Review: Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara

How are all you ladies doing? I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I've been in the motherland (aka Korea) these past couple of weeks.. and I KNOW I PROMISED MORE POSTS but... my grandmother's house has no wifi.... trust me.. It's been very painful.. but! TODAY! I finally had the time to sit in a cafe all day so I decided to update my blog.. teehee <3
Today I will be reviewing the Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara. wow, that's a mouthful. HAHA. Anyways. The last time I was in Korea, I did some serious damage to my savings with makeup and so this time, I've been trying to pace myself. This was my first makeup purchase here and I've been here for 3 weeks! I think I'm doing pretty good. Anyways, I will update my blog with all the products I will buy later when I do buy more things... so keep posted till then!
Onto the makeup then:

The Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara claims to "fix" your eyelashes into place all day. It has a the fixer product included into a mascara, along with a dual jelly brush that will keep your eyelashes in fixed all day. It also claims to have super long lasting power so you can go into the pool with it on, and no one will see panda eyes. That's a lot to claim in one mascara.. and unfortunately for me, I was persuaded into buying the mascara.
The Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara also comes in a variety of pretty unique colors. It comes in brown, black, burgundy, and hot pink. They lady at the store was trying to get me to buy the burgundy one since I recently dyed my hair reddish brown. She said it was one of the most popular colors. But, I decided to keep it simple and grabbed the black one.
Another reason why I bought this mascara was because... they had this deal.. you see. HAHA I expect that you guys already know how easily tricked I am into buying things by now. But they had this adorable packaging and a special sale, in which if you buy the mascara, you get a free eyelash curler!
I've been needing a new eyelash curler.. since I bought mine.. who knows when.. probably when I was still in high school. But the thing is.. I've been eyeing the Shu Uemura one for a while since I've tried my roommate's eyelash curler.. but why get one when I just got one for free... right? hahah

I definitely love the chic black packaging of the mascara along with the black eyelash curler.. Although I am quite worried that the eyelash curler will get dirty pretty soon. Like a black car, isn't the dust and makeup going to show more on a black eyelash curler? I haven't used it yet since I'm planning on bringing it back to America and using it when I'm in America but I'll let you guys know if it really does get dirty fast.
The mascara itself definitely has a unique brush. It's supposed to be a jelly brush, so it's easily malleable in order to reach all the lashes on the inner and outer corners of your eyes. One thing that was kind of strange that I noticed when I opened the packaging for the mascara was the strange scent of the mascara itself. It smelled almost like gasoline.. I don't really know why but when you smell the mascara it smells strange. However, I looked on all the Korean blogs about this one fact and no one mentions it.. so I guess it's just me? But once you apply the mascara onto your eyes, the scent is no longer noticeable.
It definitely is a long lasting and VERY waterproof mascara. I wore it to a water park and my eyelashes stayed in place all day until I washed it off with a cleanser. I'm trying to get a lot of different mascaras to try out since I have... none. I'm actually OUT of mascara! I'm so excited haha I've never been completely done with a product. Gives me a reason to shop! ahaha.
Anyways, here are my final thoughts:
Pros:

  • Extremely waterproof.
  • Definitely long lasting. Stays in place all day.
  • Cheap: Retails for about 12000 won, which is about 12 USD.
  • Comes with a free eyelash curler.
  • Very light. Doesn't drag down the eyelash curls because of the weight.
  • Both volumizing and lengthening. I wore only mascara and eyeshadow, and it looks like I have eyeliner on too! Perfect for on- the- go makeup or when in a hurry! (Which is like everyday since I never wake up early enough for class)

Cons:

  • The only thing I can think of is the scent.. Seriously, it smelled like butane gas..
Final Rating: 4.3/5.0

  2. The product looks extremely promising! I've recently acquired the Innisfree mascara so I don't think I'll be getting a new one soon o:
