Review: Mario Badescu Skin Care

Hello World!
Recently, I've been trying out some Mario Badescu samples that I thought would be nice to review.

Enzyme Cleansing Gel
Product description: This non- foaming, gel cleanser thoroughly removes the day's makeup, dirt, and oil without drying the skin. Papaya Extracts are exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy Acids that help break down dulling build up, leaving the skin fresh and healthy.

Review: This stuff is seriously the BOMB. My skin has recently been acting crazy from the amount of stress with the lack of sleep I've been experiencing.  I've used this cleanser for about 4 days now and there is a visible difference in the brightness of my skin. I would seriously recommend this product to those with hyper-pigmentation.

Rating: 5/5 Seriously. Amazing.

Special Cucumber Lotion
Product description: Refreshing, disinfecting, and deep cleaning astringent that is effective in drying up existing acne blemishes while preventing new eruptions. Sulfur and soothing Cucumber help to fight against oily build- up and bacteria that can cause acne.
Review: I did not see too much of a difference in my skin with this product but then again, at least it didn't cause any irritation. If you're looking for a somewhat more high end toner, I would recommend this lotion because its's very gentle on the skin.
Rating: 3.5/5 Once again, I did not see much of a difference with this product on my skin.

Almond and Honey Non Abrasive Face Scrub
Product description:  A non- abrasive face scrub to gently exfoliate and refine dry, flaky skin and dulling build up. It is made with finely ground Almond and Cornmeal combined with Honey to buff away flaky skin without irritating.

Review: If you need to exfoliate your face once in a while, I would recommend this product. Not only does it smell heavenly, it also does wonders for your skin. Especially these days where the weather has been crazy, my skin either goes crazy oily or crazy dry. Unlike many other exfoliaters, this does NOT dry out your skin what so ever. I normally use the Neutregena Acne Face Wash in the mornings to exfoliate my skin but after using this scrub, I've considered buying the full size product. However, the effects of exfoliating the face only last about 10 minutes.

Rating: I would give this product a 4.5/5. Definitely one of the better facial scrubs I have ever tried other than the Fresh Sugar Face Scrub.

Drying Mask
Product description: This Colloidal sulfur based mask dries existing pimples and oil and helps clarify problematic skin. Soothing Calamine makes this mask safe and gentle for most skin types. Great for back and chest acne eruptions as well. Best when used as a companion product to our Healing and Soothing Mask.

Review: This Drying mask definitely does help my acne. For those that didn't know I have VERY acne prone skin. However, the one thing that stops me from using it more often is that it STINKS. The smell of sulfur is WAY too strong for me to want to put it anywhere near my face. If you guys are able to withstand the stink, I would recommend this product for those times of the month where pimples suddenly start appearing.

Rating: Although I have heard good things about this product, because of the strong scent, I could only use it once. Therefore I would give it a 2.5/5

Drying Cream
Product description: An effective treatment to dry up small under- surface blemishes that appear as raised bumps in oily areas of skin. Aloe rich cream conceals and heals erupted pimples.
Review: Although this product did help get rid of some of my acne problems, it did not do a phenomenal job. I feel like this product is priced too high for the effect that it gives.
Rating: 3.5/5 Wasn't the best thing for my acne.

Hyaluronic Eye Cream
Product description: Hyaluronic Acid formula helps lock in the skin's own natural moisture without the use of heavy, greasy oils. Absorbent, medium weight cream for use day or night. Aloe based formula makes this cream suitable for all skin types, even sensitive.
Review: I have dry under eyes, always resulting in my concealer caking under my dark circles. However, with this eye cream, when applied the night before, my make up did not seem as cakey as it normally does. However, the price is very high for the amount you receive.
Rating: 4/5 Good for those who need the extra moisture.

A.H.A. and Ceramide Moisturizer
Product description: Our intensive repair cream for sun damaged and discolored skin. This rich daily or overnight cream contains exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy Acids from Lemongrass Extract and antioxidants Vitamin A & E to brighten dull skin. A blend of Carnation and Peanut Oils along with moisture- retaining Pentavitin keeps dry skin soft and radiant.
Review: I have extremely dry skin whenever the seasons change. It's to the extent where layers of my skin will be visibly peeling off near my nose and cheek areas. However with this product, the peeling was minimal, helping my makeup adhere the next day without having flaky pieces of skin floating around.
Rating: 4/5 Although the cream did help with my flaky dry skin, I've tried night creams at a cheaper price that did a better job in keeping my skin moisturized.

If you enjoyed reading this review and would like to try out some of these products, I will be sending a package containing all of the products mentioned above in celebration of my new blog.
