Beauty How To: Korean Spring Hair Trends

Now that spring is almost over, I know that many women are looking for a change in their look.  I find hair to be one of the hardest things to change because I’m often scared to do anything too drastic to it.

However, I think summer is a great time to change up your hair completely because you have the whole summer to try it out, and if you don’t like it, you can easily wait for it to come back during the fall when school starts again. Here are three things trends in Korea that you can try to your hair to change up your look!

 1. Texture

Unfortunately, for us Asians, other than our eyelashes, the other thing that is stick straight is our hair.  One trend that’s been really popular in Korea is the Digital Perm look. Curly hair is no new trend, but lately, many celebrities have been curling only the bottom half of their hair for a more natural look. Straight hair can look good but can also be boring. Try getting a Digital Perm, that way, your hair will stay curly even after showering for a couple of months!

2. Length

Someone once told me that women need to have long hair and short skirts. However, it seems that the long hair phase is no longer in session! Many Korean males include a girl with long black hair as a part of their “ideal types.” However, many women have been rocking a cute bob cut. Long hair not only is high maintenance but it can also make you appear older whereas short hair not only is easy to maintain but also gives you a younger look. Just look at IU! Although she rocks both hair lengths, I think her shorter hair is much more refreshing for this summer.

3. Color

Many KPOP stars already have bright hair colors from blondes, reds, and browns. However, a trend that started recently is a pink brown hair color. Last year, the reddish hair was a trend, however this year, the trend has become lighter. The pink brown hair is nice because it fits both dark and light skin tones. The light brown aspect of this color compliments lighter skin tones whereas the reddish pink touch makes this look also suitable for those with darker skin tones.

If you’re looking to change up your look, try one of these three tips.. or even better, try all three at once!
