Weekly Favorites: Green Tea Konjac Sponge

For some reason, I've been breaking out these days so I decided to try out the Green Tea Konjac Sponge. I don't really know if it stopped my breakouts but I definitely did enjoy the sponge a lot because of it's gentle nature.

What is a Konjac Sponge?

A konjac is made up of natural ingredients that cleanse and exfoliate the skin to create smoother, softer, and brighter looking skin. The Konjac sponge is made of 100% Konjac Root grown in Jeju Island in South Korea. Konjac is an Asian root vegetable the Japanese have used as a detoxifying dietary staple. The konjac sponge balances the acidity of the skin's natural impurities and oiles as it enriches the skin with protein, ironn, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin D, vitamin C, and folic skin.

Claimed Benefits:

  • Thoroughly cleanses skin pores
  • Removes dead skin cells, blackheads, dirt & oil
  • Hydrates skin & balances pH
  • Eliminates excess sebum
  • Gently exfoliates skin
  • 100% natural, sustainable & bio-degradable
  • No toxic & harmful chemicals
  • Animal & cruelty free
  • GMO Free
  • Excellent for all skin types including sensitive skin
  • Suitable for everyone from babies, women and men

Types of Sponges:

I was given the Green Tea, The Cherry Blossom and the Bamboo Charcoal Sponge to review. I've been using the Green Tea sponge for a couple of days now and I absolutely LOVE this product.

I choose to use the Green Tea one first because the website stated that "Japanese Green Tea has a unique sterilizing effect to facilitates beautiful radiant soft skin by combating inflammation from acne and preventing spots."

I can most definitely say that the inflammation on my skin has gone down a lot. The redness is reduced and the sponge gently exfoliates my skin! I was so surprised when I walked out of the shower with such baby smooth skin!

The sponge itself is about the size of your palm. But once you start to use it, it expands in size.

Final Rating: 5/5
Pros:
  • Cheap. Especially for such a good product for your skin, it's worth the investment. This website also has free shipping!
  • Exfoliates your skin in the most gentlest manner.
  • Green Tea scent is soothing
  • Actually performs claimed benefits! No false advertising!
  • Uses all natural ingredients, does not cause breakouts.
Cons:
  • You have to replace the sponge every 4-6 weeks. I guess all good things must come to an end. But I am most definitely willing to buy more to replace the green tea sponge when it comes to an end!
