Review: Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm

Hello! I'm sorry that I haven't been posting as regularly these days! I have finals this week so I've been busy.. But after this week, I have many many more posts coming soon so please be a little patient with me. Today I'm going to review the Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm.

Can I just start off by just appreciating the packaging? Isn't the cupcake packaging just so adorable? Once again, when I was in Korea this summer, this product was definitely NOT on my wish list but they were just staring at me when I was checking out at the counter and I couldn't resist them. I thought these would be great to give to my younger sisters since they really like this kind of stuff so I grabbed two for my twin sisters.
I grabbed the #2 Pink Cupcake and the #3 Peach Cupcake. Although I got these for my sisters, I couldn't help but try it because well... I was just curious if the product was actually worth the money. Unlike many other lip balms, this one was a little pricey for just a lip balm. Retailing for about 4,900Won about  $5 US dollars. I'm pretty sure its because of the adorable packaging.

The product definitely smells AMAZING. They actually smell like strawberries and peaches so when you apply the lip balm on, you can almost taste the yummy peaches and strawberries. However, the pigmentation of the products are not very good. As expected, the product wasn't very moisturizing. The moisture stayed for about 15 minutes, then you couldn't feel anything on your lips.

As for the pigmentation, both colors were barely visible. The swatch on the left was the pink cupcake while the right was the peach cupcake. As you can see, there wasn't much difference in pigmentation between the two colors.

Overall Ratings:3/5 Only because of the cute packaging.
Pros:
  • Smells Nice
  • Cute Packaging
  • Many Color options
Cons:
  • Doesn't last long
  • Does not have great pigmentation
  • unhygienic because you have to stick your finger in the lip balm every time you use it
  • Pricey for the amount of product you receive.
